Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 admin

This Kia Forte Koup offers responsive steering and impressive braking. Ride and noise aren’t high points, but are better than some rivals. Find out more about the Kia Forte Koup on our website: www.consumerreports.org

@davewhodavedunn yea its based of the Honda. It copied the Si but also killed it. Looks super sporty and attractive

Its meant to be a practical. Its not an all out sports car. The engine has a throaty growl. What a tool. They stalled it? Nice. Try learing before driving a manual. I test drove a manual hauled ass and didnt stall it wasnt even close.

this guy is annoying as hell.

This car looks like it could be in Transformers movies lol

@davewhodavedunn You do relize that an acura is just a fancy honda right?

why did that girl looks so scared in the backseat?! LOL

@davewhodavedunn

Honda just swept the 2011 JD POWER initial quality award in 7 vehicle segments and was the number 2 brand- behind Lexus overall, with Acura being in third place. Try that with a Kia – well below the industry average.

a small backseat in an economy coupe??? NO WAY! I’m shocked ;-)
It’s a really nice car

i like the speakers with the lights :D

This review is terrible, this guy sucks

how well does this car hold up for miles wise? I heard the transmission after 40,000 miles goes really bad. Is that true? and overall is it a reliable car?

By crimsoninred on December 14th, 2011 at 9:03 pm

i hope kia keeps this car and continuously make improvements i bet this will be a real killer after some years

@Derrick021594 I think you’ve got it backwards there buddy. The Civic Si has like no torque. It has 197 hp but the torque is somewhere low in the 130s, which is why I don’t like it. You HAVE to rev it high to get power out of it. My base sentra almost has the same torque as the civic. The Forte definitely beats the Civic in torque

THe corsa blue is amazing!

@wompwomp55 I agree it’s not a sportscar, but I have to question your car knowledge if you’re calling this a sedan

@davewhodavedunn
what are you doing with an acura if you are “car people”?

By Derrick021594 on December 14th, 2011 at 11:42 pm

This guy is such a critic! its low in the back of course, its sleak as what he said, and its noisey too, isn’t that couple of many reasons why you buy a sports car ??
the forte koup came out of nowhere and its starting out hell a lot better than than its competitors. It has a more powerful engine than its competitors too. Besides the fact that the Civic Si has more torque, it doesn’t matter, power & torque must be balanced the power.The civic si will run quickly in 0-60 but,thats where it suck

what i hate about reviews are them comparing econo boxes like these sedans to sportscars? wtf these things even civic si’s and golf gti’s are nowhere near sportscars. come one get real people!

@davewhodavedunn you work for kia dont you?

compared to the civic si this is junk haha

I’m 6’2 and I fit fine in the back seat. Your review seems kind of bias. After test driving the civic coup, forte koup and scion t.c., the Forte had the most responsive steering, best visibility and quietest ride. The only complaint I really agree with is the bumpy ride.

Consumer Reports needs Tanner Foust. Thumbs up if you agree!

KIA could have done a lot better. The engine is rubbish (seriously, I can’t imagine that somebody would still buy a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated engine into a sporty coupe while not having a decent amount of power and torque), and it looks like the clutch and gearbox aren’t great either. This car is literally begging for a 2.0 Turbo with something north of 200 hp.
